Implementation: Change of Location

 Implementation; Change of Location

Upon further discussion with the lead actor, Maddy, we discussed how I envisioned the flow of the shots.  The "house" shots were to be created in the daylight hours and therefore should be able to smoothly transition within the spaces.  I was preparing for the location more when I received the message from Maddy:

I value her expertise but wanted to see for myself as we may be able to edit the scenes with some effort to be appropriate.  As I reviewed the proposed location deeper with an onsite visit, I quickly realized it do not fit my vision.  Maddy explained she had a small kitchen in her dorm room but while visiting I realized the scenes in the living area, kitchen and bathroom would all be split into separate areas outside of her actual room.  This would break up the continuity and would not show a cohesive flow as the rooms, lighting and overall looks would be completely offset.

Time to change the location indeed.  I needed to consider the scheduling constraints as well.  Maddy was leaving for spring break on March 6th for the week.  Our March 1st shoot timeframe would limit how far we can go as Logan had work in the afternoon and I was working with my church group in the morning both of these are in the Boca area.  I did not want to waste the crucial film time traveling back and forth to home.  My aunt lives in Boca Raton so I quickly reached out to her to see if we could use her home as our new location.

As per my conversation with my Aunt, she quickly agreed and I had the green light to proceed with my new location.  She also helped me to have everyone leave the house for a few hours so it would minimize the distractions and interruptions.  I immediately brought the cast up to speed and they were excited that I was able to overcome this road block so quickly.  They are excited to begin filming.
