Second Day of Production: Behind the Scene

Second Day of Production: Behind the Scene

The second day of filming was concentrated on the night scenes.  The vision for these scenes involved a car accident where the actors are arguing and tragedy occurs.  I needed to be sure we executed these scenes safely while giving the audience an authentic looking simulation.  I chose the location of a parking lot at Florida Atlantic University.  This location fit the scenario for my vision, it was remotely located to the cast members and myself for the time that worked well within the schedules of all parties.

When we began filming the lighting was ideal as the lights were on from multiple sources near the location as there were a few groups active in nearby areas.  As the filming continued, some of the venue lights began turning off.  There was also a sorority group wrapping up an event and quite loudly entered the area near where we were working.  These obstacles created a few challenges which I was quickly able to overcome and maintained the integrity of the project.

As the second day of production comes to a close, I am quite proud of the shots that we were able to capture.  The actors were also happy with how the production flowed and the quality of the shots achieved.  I thanked the actors for their flexibility in scheduling and working around the obstacles as they presented.  We are all looking forward to how all of the shots from day one and two come together.
